Apex Circuit Design

Apex has been commissioned by KNA Raceway to design a new multi disciplinary motor sport destination and create a home for motor sport in Norway in a uniquely rugged mountainous location.

The circuit layout developed within the vision plan reaches a length of 2.55km designed to achieve an FIA Grade 3 license. Run off and gradient around the track have been optimised by Apex using in-house simulation tools with a sympathetic fit to the natural rocky topography of the site.

In addition, the venue will include an FIA Grade 6 Rally Cross circuit, and ¼ mile drag strip, both developed as integral elements to the main circuit, and an 815m kart circuit, in compliance with CIK guidelines, intended to achieve a Category C license from the CIK, and capable of hosting national level racing events.

Groundworks for the project are underway, with construction expected to be completed in late 2012 or early 2013.
