Apex was commissioned in June 2008 to design “the World’s best” international kart circuit. Working with Ridge, as lead consultants, and Scott Wilson, Apex designed a 1.4km, topographically challenging, environmentally sound, value engineered track over 4.7m of grade change. The design exceeds CIK category ‘A’ standards and is due to be operational in 2009. This kart circuit development has been intelligently integrated into the existing Bahrain International Circuit master plan with a proposed ‘piazza’ development including retail and leisure activities which will become a hub for tourists, Grand Prix visitors, youngsters and families in Bahrain.
