In April 2008 Apex Circuit Design, teamed with Ridge and Scott Wilson, were commissioned by the ARDC (Australian Racing Drivers Club) to undertake a master planning exercise for a re-configuration of the existing 3.9km Sydney race circuit. Apex developed circuit designs to allow for a revised 4.7km FIA Category 1 circuit with 6 track permutations for a range of motorsport use. The final master plan presentation, given by Clive Bowen in August 2008, identified how the design team had master planned a multi-use destination which would cater for corporate entertainment, international motorsport, VIP hospitality and a range of commercial opportunities. Detailed design on this project is expected to commence later in 2010.
