Eurasia Autodrome Domodedovo

Location: Russia
Circuit type: FIA Grade 2
Length: 3.0 km
Eurasia City LLC appointed Ridge and Partners and Apex Circuit Design to provide architectural, master planning, race circuit and engineering design in 2007 for the Eurasia Autodrome Domodedovo as part of the wider Eurasia City property development. The final design for a 3.0km circuit, was granted by the FIA Circuits and Safety Commission design approval to Grade 2 standard.
The project was designed to be developed over two phases: Phase 1, a 1.7km Category 3 race circuit for Russian National racing, with Phase 2 extending the circuit to 3.0km and Grade 2 status.
The global economic crisis in 2008 caused this project to stall as the principal backers were funded by a Kazakh bank which failed during the crisis. Phase 1 was constructed in 2009 suitable for winter ice driving and ice racing and the full project is still very much intended to complete once funds permit. Russia has a fast growing motorsport industry and this project is ideally situated to meet the demand in the Moscow region.
