Project evaluation

We can provide our clients with an initial project evaluation service to establish commercial and practical feasibility.

A project evaluation is undertaken by a member of the Apex design team and this includes a report offering recommendations and a strategy for progressing the project.

Vision planning

Following initial project evaluation we provide a vision planning service for our clients.

The purpose of a vision plan is to provide our clients and their business consultants with a tool to prepare a formal business plan and to estimate a more accurate broad order of costs. A vision plan also identifies potential land uses, areas, phasing and zoning. A vision plan is often used by our clients to solicit support from local authorities and prospective investors.

Feasibility analysis

We work with internationally reputed specialist business consultants, such as KPMG. With these consultants we provide clients with a report consisting of feasibility analysis, zoning, phasing and land use strategies, estimated quantities and costs and, of course, potential yield. These reports also identify how a motorsport facility could affect the local, regional and national economies.

Strategies to develop motorsport

We have worked on numerous international projects to establish or upgrade motorsport facilities in countries where the sport needs to mature.

We have established a number of strategies with our clients to nurture motor sport from the grass roots; to promote competition, education and road safety training. We recommend an appropriate and pragmatic development path from karting to the highest levels of the sport.

We have relationships with the motorsport regulatory bodies, race teams and race series promoters/organisers. We introduce these contacts to our clients to accelerate the process of motorsport development for any of our projects.

Master planning

Once a client has established a commercial model for a project we work with our architectural and engineering partners to create a master plan and report. The report includes an overview of the design theory, proposed circuit designs, architectural layouts and land use strategies.

The master plan hero images are valuable commercial tools for marketing our projects and increasing public awareness of a project.

We actively promote the notion that land value created from the commercial and leisure development around a motorsport venue should contribute towards the capital cost of building that venue.

Design dossiers for FIA/FIM/CiK design homologation

Following client approval of a circuit layout we prepare a detailed homologation dossier for approval by the regulatory motorsport bodies.

Our core competence is the engineering of challenging FIA, CiK and FIM approved race circuits that maximise the use of natural topography. We use a variety of CAD design software packages and simulation techniques and input from race drivers and riders to develop optimised models for race circuits.

We work with our civil engineering partners to
produce drawings for construction.

Project management

We provide an ongoing project management service during circuit construction. This service includes site reviews, international project marketing and other commercial support services.

Our project management service is usually provided as part of the wider remit of site management and engineering by our project partners who would assume lead consultant role.

Homologation support services

As part of our project management service we also act as the liaison between our clients, the FIA, FIM or CiK (as appropriate) and their country representatives (the ASN) to ensure the construction of the motorsport facility meets ongoing requirements for offi cial sanction and approval. This service reduces potential remedial costs, increases the quality of the fi nished circuit and ensures a satisfactory relationship between the circuit operator and the regulator.

Facility operation and event management

We work with a number of specialist motorsport consultants, to provide event overlay, preoperation recruitment and training support, liaison with event promoters, pre-event inspections, event security control advice and capital equipment investment advice to our clients. We can also provide design services to our clients for detailed event paddock plans and Outside Broadcaster compound designs.
