Apex to design UK 4x4 course with Xtreme Offroad

Apex Circuit Design Ltd, the internationally recognised motorsport circuit design and land planning consultancy, are delighted to announce that they have been commissioned to design a new off road facility proposed for the Royal Bath and West showground in Somerset, UK.
Apex will work closely with off road specialists, Xtreme Off Road , headed by Matt Smith and Julian Sayer, who operate several successful off road motorsport sites in the UK aimed at the corporate market. “The Royal Bath and West showground have been extremely welcoming in catering for this new off road facility and it is proposed that the new course will feature as a main attraction at annual shows”, explained Matt Smith of Xtreme Off Road. “The course will allow show guests to ride on quad bikes and trial in 4x4 vehicles, allowing opportunities for various vehicle manufacturers to demonstrate the capabilities of their machines.”
On non-event show days the course will entertain corporate groups on a variety of track permutations designed by Apex and Xtreme Off Road. Although the final track designs are still underway the team can be sure that clients will be entertained and tested regardless of their off road driving capabilities. “We intend to incorporate features to cater for novices and experienced off roaders, with obstacles such as vehicle see-saws, water runs and rock crawls” said Ben Willshire, Senior Design Engineer at Apex who will lead the project.
The project team are seeking partners for this exciting new project. Anyone interested in seeking further information should contact Julian Sayer of Xtreme Off Road.
Apex’s primary business is the design of FIA approved racing facilities, working in association with world class architects, civil engineering consultants and financial advisors to create commercially viable motorsport destinations. The notion of integrating corporate off road courses into their master plans for other motorsport projects is one that Apex Managing Director, Clive Bowen is keen to encourage. He said today; “We look forward to watching construction commence on the Bath and West showground site and to developing a relationship to establish other courses with Xtreme Off Road.”
