Bowen named on Top 50 Autosport list

Clive Bowen, Managing Director of Apex Circuit Design Ltd, was recently listed in the ‘Top 50 Powerlist’ of ‘the most powerful Brits in motorsport’ by Autosport Magazine (November 30th 2006).
Clive featured alongside many far better known names, headed by Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone. As the only acknowledged motorsport circuit designer in the list, Autosport Magazine clearly recognised Clive’s record of creating challenging and commercially viable motorsport circuits around the world.
In addition to the statement that Clive is ‘the only man besides Hermann Tilke approved to design toplevel FIA circuits’, the article also said: ‘It is not just in the rarefied atmosphere of Formula 1 that Britons have significant influence…from team bosses and circuit owners to championship supremos and even a circuit designer… these men shape the motorsport landscape and have the ear of the sport’s grandees…’
Clive Bowen, whose professional background is as an engineer and consultant designer in the manufacturing industry, became involved in motorsport professionally in 1997 with the clear objective to link his proven skill in commercially exploiting large scale land development sites to extract the asset value required to underpin investment in motorsport destinations. The Dubai Autodrome, the Iceland MotoPark and Hampton Downs circuit in New Zealand, all his designs, have derived the capital required to build their race circuits from the development land on the site around those circuits.
Apex is an internationally recognised motorsport circuit design and land development consultancy, established in 2001 by Clive Bowen. The primary business of Apex is the design of FIA, FIM and CIK approved racing facilities, working in association with world-class architects, engineering consultants and land developers to create commercially viable motorsport destinations.
