Tilke enjoys driving on an Apex designed circuit
Well known race circuit designer Hermann Tilke has poured plaudits on the layout of the Dubai Autodrome after he took part in a GT race there. The German architect said of the Clive Bowen designed circuit "It is very tricky and I like it very much, because it is not easy. Really I am very happy to be here and enjoy the technical nature of Dubai Autodrome." He concluded with a laugh, "Only regret I have is that we did not design it."
The FIA Category 1 circuit was designed by Bowen to meet Formula 1 requirements and opened in late 2004. It immediatley attracted comments about its challenging nature and how it is a 'drivers circuit'.
