Bath and West Showground offroad course open to the public


Rusty GoffeDescribed as a "white knuckle ride with amazing thrills" the new permanent off-road facility at the Royal Bath and West showground in Shepton Mallet is the first collaboration between Apex Circuit Design Ltd, and Xtreme Offroad. Rusty Goffe, who starred in Star Wars, Harry Potter and the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movies, officially opened the course on Tuesday 13th May and said "It's absolutely tremendous".

The circuit was opened in front of representatives from the Royal Bath and West Society, local media and a number of off-road vehicle manufacturers who have expressed interest in using the facilities in the future.

Clive Bowen, Managing Director of Apex said "We're very happy that we were able to assist with this project. It is our primary goal to help create commercially viable motorsport destinations and we trust this facility will prove to be no exception. The guys at Xtreme Offroad have demonstrated a knowledge and passion for the off-road commercial market that should ensure this venture succeeds."

Apex is the internationally recognised motorsport circuit design and land planning consultancy and Xtreme Offroad are operators of several successful off-road motorsport sites in the UK and overseas which are aimed at the leisure and corporate markets.

The track was open for business during the Royal Bath and West Show May 28th - May 31st 2008 with a mix of safari-style and self-drive experiences on offer, and was a huge success despite the weather. As a permanent facility it can be booked at any time through Xtreme Offroad.
