Dafydd Broom
Dafydd Broom joined Apex in January 2010 shortly after graduating from Brunel University with a First class honours Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
His passion for motorsport has led Dafydd to work for World Rally Championship winning teams such as Mitsubishi and Subaru (Prodrive Ltd.) as a design engineer and vehicle dynamicist respectively. While in these roles he honed his CAD and mathematical simulation skills which prove invaluable to Apex for use in track design and in the development of the cutting edge simulation techniques used by the company to improve track safety, driver satisfaction and spectator interest.
While circuit design is a whole new challenge for Dafydd he relishes such opportunities and is eager to prove himself as a leading designer in the industry with Apex, producing designs for exciting, economically and environmentally sustainable sites across the world.
In his short time at Apex, Dafydd has taken on the role of Senior Design Engineer for a number of FIA Facilities Improvement Programme projects worldwide. Dafydd has been assigned to long haul projects and works primarily with Apex’s satellite office in Dubai. Working with the satellite office in Dubai allows Apex to be flexible and responsive to a growing and very active worldwide demand for motor racing facilities.
